More about Me

My Aim

Through my integrated approach, I aim to create a safe space where clients can authentically explore their emotions, shed old layers, and emerge stronger and more resilient by empowering them with effective coping skills to overcome their struggles and adapt more successfully to challenging life circumstances.

Healing looks different for all of us; and self-love and healing go hand in hand. When you truly love yourself, you want nothing but to heal so you can show up fully in your relationships, excel professionally, and love wholeheartedly & unconditionally. I want to help you achieve this. I will guide you so that you can stop rushing the process trying to fill a void and judging yourself the whole way.

I want my clients to know that they are human and evolving everyday. You’ve got to shed your old skin to be made anew, no matter how uncomfortable it is. You will heal sis, and do it unapologetically on your own time.

My Therapy Approaches

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT):

If you often find yourself caught in cycles of negative thinking, self-criticism, or perfectionism, CBT can help you break free. This approach focuses on identifying and challenging the unhelpful thought patterns that keep you feeling stuck or anxious, replacing them with healthier, more empowering perspectives. Together, we’ll look at the connections between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors, so you can begin to shift your mindset and start living with more confidence and clarity. CBT gives you practical tools to manage anxiety, overcome self-doubt, and move through life’s challenges with greater ease.

  • Person-Centered Therapy:

I believe that you are the expert on your own life, and my role is to create a supportive space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings without judgment. In person-centered therapy, you set the pace, and I’m here to listen, reflect, and help you tap into your inner strengths. By creating a relationship built on trust, empathy, and unconditional positive regard, we’ll work together to uncover your authentic self and help you navigate through life’s challenges in a way that feels right for you. You’ll learn to trust yourself, embrace your growth, and make decisions that align with who you truly are.

  • Holistic Methods (Yoga and Breath Work):

Your mind and body are deeply connected, and holistic methods like yoga and breath work help bridge that gap. If you’re feeling anxious, overwhelmed, or disconnected from yourself, these practices can help you find calm and balance from within. By integrating mindfulness, movement, and breath, we’ll work to release the tension and stress stored in your body, allowing you to reconnect with your physical and emotional well-being. Whether it’s through a simple breathing exercise or gentle yoga poses, these holistic methods will help you cultivate inner peace and resilience, empowering you to face life with greater calm and clarity.

My Background

My journey into the field of mental health counseling began with a strong foundation in biological sciences. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Biological Science from Florida Atlantic University, driven by an initial aspiration to pursue a career in healthcare with a focus on women's health. However, my path took a transformative turn as I discovered the profound benefits of holistic practices like yoga and meditation in improving overall well-being. This newfound passion led me to complete my Yoga Teacher Training in 2018, which became a pivotal moment in my career.

When the pandemic struck, it became clear to me that mental health care was an urgent need, particularly within urban communities. This realization motivated me to pursue a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at Mercer University. This program allowed me to integrate my passion for holistic wellness with evidence-based mental health practices, addressing the complexities of mind-body healing.

Throughout my professional journey, I have helped individuals navigate issues such as anxiety, depression, negative body image, relationship struggles, substance abuse, and the pressure of not living up to their potential. My dedication to empowering women and fostering holistic well-being remains at the core of my practice, guiding them towards a path of self-love and healing.

Q&A with Serenity

  • I can work with Georgia & Florida residents, and my rates are as follows: Intake Sessions are $175 for 60 minutes, Individual Therapy sessions are $150 for 53 minutes, and $115 for 45 minutes. I also offer a free 15-minute consultation to help us determine if we’re a good fit before you commit. I accept insurance from Aetna and Cigna, so if you’re covered by one of these providers, therapy costs may be partially or fully covered by your plan.

    Good Faith Estimate

  • That’s completely okay. Many people feel hesitant or unsure about where to begin, especially if they’ve been carrying their struggles alone for a long time. You don’t have to have it all figured out before you come to therapy. We’ll take things at your pace, exploring your feelings and experiences gently, step by step. My role is to create a safe, supportive space where you feel comfortable enough to share, even if it takes some time. You don’t have to have the “right words” — just showing up is a powerful first step.

  • Therapy isn’t just for those in crisis or facing significant trauma — it’s for anyone who feels stuck, overwhelmed, or just needs a little extra support. Whether you’re struggling with self-doubt, body image, relationship anxiety, or simply feeling like you’re not living up to your potential, you deserve a space where you can talk through what’s on your mind. No problem is too small to work through, and if it’s bothering you, it’s worth addressing. You deserve to feel supported, no matter where you are on your path.

  • Self-care is essential, but therapy offers something deeper. While self-care practices help maintain well-being, therapy helps you explore the underlying issues that keep you feeling overwhelmed, anxious, or stuck. Together, we’ll dig into the root causes of what’s holding you back and find meaningful ways to break those patterns. Therapy gives you the tools and insight to truly transform your relationship with yourself and your life, beyond what self-care alone can provide.

  • Finding the right therapist is a bit like finding the right pair of shoes — it has to be a good fit. If you don’t feel comfortable or feel like it’s not working for you, that’s okay. Your comfort and trust are most important, and you have the freedom to make changes at any time. We can talk about what feels off and see if adjustments can be made, or I can help guide you to a different therapist who may be a better match for your needs.

  • Therapy is a process, and everyone’s journey looks different. Some people start to feel relief after just a few sessions, while others might take a bit longer to notice changes. What matters most is that we move at a pace that feels comfortable for you and that we’re working towards meaningful progress, not just quick fixes. I’m here to support you for as long as you need, and together, we’ll work toward creating lasting change.

  • Being “strong” can sometimes mean carrying more than you should, all on your own. Therapy isn’t about being weak; it’s about finding new, healthier ways to be strong — ways that allow you to be honest about your feelings without judgment. You don’t have to have all the answers, and you don’t need to be “strong” in the way you’ve been taught. In our sessions, you’ll have a space to explore what strength really looks like for you, and how to embrace your full self, not just the parts that feel safe to show the world.

    Get to the Root

Your therapy will likely start out with having sessions either weekly or biweekly. With your Therapist, you will get a better understanding of your presenting concerns and how they came about. Your therapist will also help you assess your level of coping and teach you additional strategies.

  • Do the Work

The bulk of your experience will be in doing the work, both in & out of sessions. You will work through implementing techniques to improve your mood and engagement in relationships in session, while completing tasks assigned by your therapist to further your progress.

  • Have Better Relationships

This is the point where you get to be #RelationshipGoals. You are having fewer therapy sessions and experiencing emotional healing from past relationship trauma. You are in a place where you are feeling more competent to handle whatever comes next.
